An AACSB Advisor advising my former school noted that peer-reviewed journal articles are absolutely the primary intellectual contribution evaluated by an AACSB Accreditation team.  Any other work is considered far less important.  Hence, it is somewhat irrelevant what I think my school values if my school\'s accrediting body does not have the same opinion.  I suspect many schools encourage case-wrting only to find that cases are not highly valued by AACSB.  Both my current and former school did

WACRA should consider establishing a Journal of Case Study Analysis. This would assist the university\'s administration to better understand the value of case studies at their universities. As a professor in a School of Management, we use case studies in most management courses, <br />
however the \"value\" of case writing is not high. WACRA needs to develop more case writing seminars and invite administrators and tenured faculty members to establish more academic credibility. Additionally, the WACRA

Realistically, there\'s not much that WACRA (or NACRA) can do to impact the somewhat negative attitude toward case research at my institution (or, in my judgment, any other institution).  The battle is one that committed case researchers/writers have to fight in whatever institutional setting they find themselves.

Our institution promotes lecturers based on scholarly publications only. Therefore I have stopped writing case studies and concentrate on traditional research only at least until I will receive the degree of professor.  I think it is very difficult to change this attitude, as the universities in Israel sit on the committee that promotes academics in our institution and theyare research oriented.

Too many North American, Eastern European, Asian and French cases are too purely practitioner-oriented for the research-based teaching university paradigm of Northern European institutions. Cases that can be both used to analyse practitioners\' problems and the (often limited) practical applicability of theory (e.g. resource-based theory, social network theory, management theory) as well as to illustrate meta-theoretical analysis to students are sorely needed.

It has to be considered acceptable research by our accrediting organization AACSB.  if it is published in a journal it is research.  If it is published in a book, it has less credit than an academic article.  Yet, case writing for a book is just as tedious and challenging as writing a journal case analysis
